Karachi: Citizens-Police Liaisons Committee (CPLC) and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVVC) on Friday organised a joint raid and saved a man held hostage for ransom from the area of Gadap city and also arrested the alleged kidnapper.
“A businessman, Latif Sorthiya that was recovered in a joint raid,” this was told in the press conference held by CIA DG Amin Yousufzai CPLC chief Zubair Habib, SSP anti-white crime cell Irfan Bahadur.
The officials reported the hostage was found tied up with chains. Luckily, the alleged kidnapper Jamil Ahmed alias Baba Ubro has been arrested with his weapons during the incident.
Earlier, the kidnapper demanded Rs60 million from hostage’s family.
The officials reported that the alleged kidnapper holds a criminal record and was a wanted person in murder cases.
